Remove Stock Harley Baffles. What you have now is just a crappy sounding exhaust with some loss of response on the bottom. One way to dramatically increase the sound of your pipes without replacing them is to knock out the baffles.
The loud exhaust has become a staple of motorcycle culture because it acts as a safety buffer. You wont fry anything. A Drill bit or a 12 hole saw A Drill bit extender A Handheld drill A Wrench set.
This is the change to the original how-to. Some people on a budget will take a hammer and a Peace of pipe and knock out the piece thats blocking the center of the exhaust pipe which will give you more sound but I dont recommend this I really recommend getting some. You can cut it right after the bent part of the pipe or simply take the welds off of the plug that bolts to the pipe i do recommend leaving the steel wool insert in though because if you remove this you will actualy slow the velocity of the exhaust down and this will hurt performance.
To help with the process use a large punch to center the drilling point inside the exhaust. Harley recommends that they be replaced as components. Depending on the exhaust there may be two or three bolts securing the baffle in place.
