Install upper nuts finger tight.

Tighten upper nuts to 60-80 in. Tighten top nut to 9 - 18 in-lbs tighten bottom nut to 100 - 120 in-lbs Re-tighten top nut to 100 - 120 in-lbs Repeat on the rear exhaust. Got 4 new nuts and totally reinstalled exhaust.

Insert the small end of a torque cone into each of the two exhaust pipe openings until the flange on the cones comes against the flange on the exhaust pipes. Well when the bike cooled I inspected and saw one nut had vibrated loose and fallen off the rear pipe flange causing the problem. Tighten the bottom nut of the same flange to 100 to 120 inch-pounds.
Tighten the exhaust into place. 21Check alignment of both pipes. Def think it needs a couple iterations of torque.
